Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attends working dinner hosted by the
Prime Minister of Republic of Burya Tiya,takes electric train from
Ulan-Ude to Irkutsk city

The Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing,
currently in Ulan-Ude City of the Russian Federation at the invitation
of Minister of Defence Army General Sergey Kuzhugetovich Shouigu of the
Russian Federation and the Russia-Myanmar Military Technological
Cooperation Committee, viewed production of helicopters at ULANUDE
Aviation Plant on the evening of 20 April.
First, the Senior
General and party arrived at ULAN-UDE Aviation Plant. At the meeting
hall, Managing Director of ULAN-UDE Aviation Plant Mr. AIEXEY KOZLOV and
officials explained manufacturing of helicopters and fighter airplanes.
The Senior General raised questions.
The Senior General and
party viewed round assembling and manufacturing of helicopters in the
plant. They took Mi 171 helicopter manufactured by the plant to view
scenes of Ulan-Ude City. After posing for documentary group photo, the
Senior General and party visited the training halls of ULAN-UDE Aviation
Plant.
The Senior General and party attended a working dinner
hosted by Prime Minister Mr. Aleksey Sambuevich Tsidenov of the Republic
of Burya Tiya. During the dinner, local ethnic cultural troupes from
the Republic of Burya Tiya performed songs and dances.
After the
dinner, the Senior General presented commemorative gifts to the Prime
Minister of the Republic of Burya Tiya and officials. Burya Tiya is an
industrialized republic where factories and industries can manufacture
planes and helicopters from start to end of working process. Around 5
percent of the population in Russia are the followers of Buddhism. There
are more than 980,000 people residing in Republic of Burya Tiya and 30
percent of the population profess Buddhism. It is a Republic with the
largest number of people believing in Buddhism in Russia.
Next,
the Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by the Senior General took a
high-speed train from Ulan-Ude station to Irkutsk city. While taking
the train, the Senior General and party viewed freshwater Lake Baikal,
which is the deepest and the largest of its kind in the world, and its
natural environs as well as the regional situation.
Lake Baikal
is located east of east Siberia in Russia Federation, between Republic
of Burya Tiya and Irkutsk Oblast. It is 636 km long and it is 79.5 km
wide. Its total surface area is 31,722 square kilometers. The deepest
point of the lake is 1,642 metres. In winter, the lake surface is
covered in ice and its thickness is about three metres. Natural forests
surrounding the lake are well conserved.
