NAY PYI TAW April 24
Commander-in-Chief
of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently in the
Russia Federation on a goodwill visit, met with Myanmar Tatmadaw
officers attending post-graduate, doctoral and Doctor of Science courses
in Russia at the ballroom of Radisson Collection Hotel in Moscow on
April 23 afternoon.
The meeting was also attended
by Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers from the Office of the
Commander-in-Chief (Army), Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air)
Commodore Kyaw Soe Moe and trainee officers from post-graduate,
doctoral and Doctor of Science courses.
Speaking on the
occasion, the Senior General said officers were sent to Russia to learn
branches of study in science for the sake of their motherland. They need
to effectively apply the subjects they have learned in the interest of
the State and the Tatmadaw when they arrive back in their country.
Soldiers must carry out their duties wherever are assigned although they
may be from different fields for various reasons. During their study,
they must study the subjects they are being taught until they become
proficient and coordinate their knowledge and wisdom. There are many
outstanding trainees who have obtained a Doctor of Science degree.
Individuals are different depending on their hard work and respect for
discipline and order. The trainees must learn not only the subjects they
are being taught but also philosophy. They must try to progress more by
coordinating the subjects they have been taught and philosophy. The
Tatmadaw is providing assistance as much as it could. Studying abroad
requires time, money and hard work. The trainees must learn steadfastly
and try to effectively apply the experience they got at worksite in the
interest of the State and the Tatmadaw. As they are studying abroad,
they need to follow the rules and disciplines of the country concerned.
The Senior General then urged the trainees to try to stay fit and not to
do things that can harm their health as Russia has severe weather
patterns.
Later, the Senior General presented food and cash
awards to the trainee officers attending various universities in Russia
through officer representatives. The Senior General then cordially
greeted them.
